XBRL News about swaps, ESG reports and Auditchain

21 April 2022 Technology & Digitalization 0

Here are the three most relevant developments in the world of structured reporting we became aware of in the course of last week.

1  New SEC rules for security-based swap execution facilities

2  Pioneering digital ESG reports demonstrate the value of machine-readable data

XBRL US has this week announced the publication of corporate sustainability data in Inline XBRL format by two companies: Moody’s Corporation and Etsy, Inc. The reports were produced using the Value Reporting Foundation’s SASB Standards XBRL Taxonomy, which provides digital tags for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

These reports demonstrate the application of XBRL in a vibrant new reporting domain. ESG analysts, take note!

3  Auditchain expands footprint (…) with acquisition of Areport

Auditchain Labs AG, the developer of the world’s first decentralized accounting, financial reporting, audit, and analysis protocol for assurance and disclosure, announced today that it has acquired Areport, a platform for creating XBRL-based (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) models, taxonomies and reports. The acquisition substantially widens the footprint and capabilities on the Auditchain Protocol for financial reporting by reporting entities.

Auditchain is making progress in establishing itself as a protocol layer for the next incarnation of the reporting (not just financial) function. Follow this space! Note that the author has a commercial interest.
